We all notice changes in our face first — it’s the part of us that meets the world every day. Our microneedling treatments work beneath the surface to support healing, collagen production, and healthier-looking skin over time.

Targeting the Spots That Matter Most

Microneedling isn’t just a single-focus treatment — it’s versatile enough to target the areas most people worry about first. From acne scars along the cheeks to fine lines around the eyes and mouth, even sun spots on the forehead or melasma across the skin’s surface, microneedling helps smooth, even, and strengthen where it counts.

Here’s how

During treatment, tiny controlled micro-channels are created across the skin. This process triggers your body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production right where it’s needed most. The result is skin that repairs itself from the inside out — firmer, smoother, and more resilient over time.

From Scars to Fine Lines: The Most Treated Concerns

Fine Lines & Dynamic Wrinkles

Dynamic wrinkles appear from repeated muscle movements — like smiling or frowning — and start as fine lines on the skin’s surface. Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate type I and type III collagen synthesis, reinforcing the dermal matrix and improving elasticity. Over time, this reduces the visibility of fine lines by thickening the epidermis and smoothing the skin’s surface.

Set Expression lines & Static Wrinkles

Unlike dynamic wrinkles, static wrinkles are present even when the face is at rest. These are caused by collagen breakdown, loss of elastin, and long-term UV exposure. Microneedling triggers fibroblast activity and angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), which helps rebuild dermal volume and improve oxygenation to the skin — softening deeper etched lines.

Sun Damage & Melasma

Melasma results from overactive melanocytes producing excess pigment, often triggered by hormones, UV exposure, or inflammation. Microneedling improves melasma not by “bleaching” the pigment but by enhancing epidermal turnover and allowing deeper penetration of brightening agents (like our tranexamic acid based add ons). Controlled injury also reorganizes the dermal-epidermal junction, which can stabilize pigment distribution.

Uneven Skin Texture

Uneven texture comes from irregular keratinocyte turnover, past breakouts, or environmental damage. Microneedling regulates this by stimulating growth factors like TGF-B and VEGF, which encourage more uniform cell renewal. The result is smoother, more consistent epidermal layers and a refined skin surface.

Pores

Enlarged pores are often tied to decreased skin elasticity and excess sebum around follicular openings. Microneedling boosts collagen around the pore walls, creating a tightening effect of the perifollicular dermis. With repeated treatments, this structural reinforcement makes pores appear smaller and less visible.

Acne Scarring

Atrophic acne scars (boxcar, rolling, ice pick) form from loss of collagen after inflammatory acne. Microneedling works by initiating neocollagenesis and neoelastinogenesis, breaking up fibrotic scar tissue and laying down fresh collagen networks. This remodeling process gradually fills and smooths depressed scars for a more even surface.

Under Eyes

The under-eye area is thin, with less fat and collagen support, making it prone to fine lines and crepiness. Microneedling stimulates dermal thickening and extracellular matrix remodeling under this delicate skin without the risks of aggressive resurfacing. Over time, it improves firmness and reduces visible hollowness or fine creases.

The Glow (Hydration)

Post-treatment “glow” isn’t just hype — microneedling enhances skin permeability by up to 200x, allowing topical add ons like our hyaluronic acid base microneedling serum to penetrate deeper. Combined with increased blood flow and new collagen, this creates visible plumpness and hydration, giving skin that luminous, healthy look.

The Dot Consultation & Concierge Care

We start with a skin assessment to understand your concerns — from acne scars to fine lines. Our nurses, doctors and concierge team helps you choose the right experience, add-ons or boosters for your skin goals.

Microneedling Prep & Comfort

Your face is cleansed and gently numbed for comfort, while medical-grade red light therapy works to support regeneration and reduce bacteria. Every step follows strict clinical protocols to ensure precision, safety, and results you can trust.

Microneedling Treatment

Using advanced devices, we create controlled micro-channels across targeted areas of your face. This stimulates collagen and elastin production while improving your skin’s ability to absorb active ingredients.

Post Microneedling Recovery & Glow

Post-treatment, your skin may be slightly pink (like a light sunburn), but most redness resolves in 24–48 hours. As collagen rebuilds, you’ll notice gradual improvements in texture, tone, and firmness with every session.

Microneedling Long-Term Plan

Consistency is where results compound. Your concierge will help you schedule monthly visits or plan a membership so your skin keeps getting stronger over time.

FAQ — FACE Protocol

Does microneedling hurt?

Most clients describe it as mildly prickly but very tolerable. We apply a topical numbing cream beforehand to keep you comfortable throughout the treatment.

How long does it take to see results?

You may notice a glow within a few days, but collagen production takes time. Most people see smoother texture and tone within 4–6 weeks, with results compounding after each session.

What’s the downtime after a session?

Expect some redness, like a light sunburn, for 24–48 hours. Makeup and skincare can usually be resumed after 24 hours, depending on your skin’s response.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your skin goals. For concerns like acne scarring or melasma, a series of 3–6 treatments is typical. For maintenance and aging gracefully, monthly sessions are ideal.

Is microneedling safe for all skin types?

Yes — microneedling is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types. It’s a non-thermal treatment, so there’s little risk of hyperpigmentation compared to lasers.

Can microneedling treat melasma?

Yes, microneedling can improve melasma by enhancing skin turnover and helping topical brightening agents penetrate more effectively. However, it typically requires multiple sessions and proper sun protection.

What’s the difference between microneedling and RF microneedling?

Standard microneedling uses fine needles to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture. RF microneedling combines this with radiofrequency energy, heating the dermis to tighten skin and target deeper lines or scars. At The Dot, we offer RF as an add-on, performed before microneedling to safely treat deeper layers while protecting the skin’s natural fat pads.

Is microneedling safe under the eyes?

Yes — with the right technique and depth, microneedling is safe for the delicate under-eye area. It can improve fine lines and crepiness without thinning the skin.

How is microneedling different from at-home dermarollers?

Professional microneedling devices use sterile, medical-grade needles with controlled depth and precision. At-home rollers are less effective and carry risks of infection and scarring.

Who shouldn’t get microneedling?

Microneedling isn’t recommended if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have active acne or infections in the treatment area, are on Accutane within the past year, or have a history of abnormal scarring/keloids.
