The Dot Theory

FAQ

Everything people ask before their first ritual.

If your question isn't here, ask us directly — we'd rather over-explain than have you guess.

Before your first session

Do I need a consult first?
Yes. It's short, it's honest, and it's how we make sure needling is right for you before anything touches your skin.
How should I prepare?
Pause retinoids and strong exfoliants for five days, arrive with clean skin, and skip alcohol the night before.
Can I come on my lunch break?
Plan for around 95 minutes door to door. You'll leave flushed, so most people book for the end of the day.

During the ritual

Does micro-needling hurt?
We numb first. Most people describe warmth and a light vibration rather than pain, and deeper passes feel more intense than maintenance ones.
What's the LED and cryo part for?
Red light helps calm inflammation and supports repair; the cryo finish takes the heat out and leaves your skin cool and contoured before you go.

Afterwards

How long is the downtime?
Expect flush for 24–48 hours, tightness for a few days, and light flaking around day four to seven. Maintenance depth is gentler than remodeling depth.
When can I wear makeup?
After 24 hours for maintenance depth, and after 48 hours for deeper remodeling work.
When will I see results?
Glow within a week or two. Real structural change lands between weeks four and twelve, and it compounds across a membership.

Membership

Which plan should I choose?
Reset ($197/month) is maintenance at low depth. Remodel ($277/month) is for texture, scars and pigment. If you're correcting first, start on Remodel.
Can I pause or cancel?
Yes — pause or cancel with two weeks' notice. We'd rather you keep the rhythm honest than force a session you don't want.
Can I add my décolleté?
Full décolleté is +$75/month on either plan. Reset members can also add a single Remodel session for +$80.
