Your information, handled carefully.

What we collect

• Contact details: name, email, phone number
• Health information you share at consult: history, medications, allergies, conditions
• Treatment records, including notes and any progress photographs you consent to
• Billing information, processed by our payment provider — we never store card numbers
• With your permission, visit statistics for our general web pages (see Cookies and analytics below)

Why we use it

To assess your suitability for treatment, to deliver and record your rituals safely, to manage your membership and billing, and to contact you about appointments. With your separate consent, we may also send occasional skin journal updates — you can unsubscribe at any time.

Progress photographs

Clinical photographs are taken only with your consent and are stored securely as part of your treatment record. We never publish or share an identifiable image without separate, specific written permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. You can grant or cancel permission for marketing use of your photos at any time in your app profile.

Who sees it

Your treating practitioner and our medical oversight team. We share information with third parties only where necessary: our telehealth partner (Qualiphy) for your Good Faith Exam, our payment processor (Stripe), and our secure cloud hosting provider, or where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep medical records for at least 7 years after your last visit (for minors, until age 19 or 7 years, whichever is longer). Marketing contact details are removed promptly on request.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep, and withdraw consent for photography or marketing. Email hello@thedtstudios.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to run the site. With your permission (the Allow button in our cookie banner), we also use two third-party tools on our general pages only: home, membership, the experience, our San Mateo microneedling page, our medical team, locations, FAQ, contact, the Skin Journal home page and careers.

• Google Analytics, to count visits to those pages. It receives the page address, your browser and device type, and approximate location. Google's advertising features are turned off.
• The Meta Pixel, to measure visits that come from our ads. It receives the page address and Meta's own cookies.

These tools never run on our Skin Journal articles, on health-topic pages such as Contraindications, or on our checkout and thank-you pages, and we never send them your name, contact details, health information or what you buy. If you click Decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they don't load at all. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.
